Techniques of the Selling Writer quickly became a classic.
It’s a must-have on every fiction writer’s bookshelf. Virtual or not. (Mine is the Kindle version.)
My biggest take-away from this book is the way the author creates scenes.
He deals with two versions:
Scenes and sequels.
In the scenes, you have a goal, conflict and disaster.
In sequels, you have reaction, dilemma and decision.
The decision is the new goal. I suggest you read the book to learn more about this important structure. It can turn a dull book into a riveting yarn.
